Blend Shapes Works for TinkerBell

Back in 2006, I was fortunate enough to work on "Tinkerbell" for Disney Toon Studios. It was a nice experience for me because I get to see 3d models come to life by crafting expressions on their faces. It was very rewarding; to see one character changing expression smoothly from one to another. Thanks to the outsource company Prana Studios and internal Disney Toon TD / programmer, the whole process doing Blend Shapes was almost painless. Prana Studios is a animation studio in India. I have to say that they have done a good job on those base models, they have very clean spans of edge loops. Although sometime it has too few loops or spans for me to work with some shapes, generally I like the clean models they are providing. This is a great lesson for me as a modeler. I have to remind myself that I can't just make a pretty model that looks good in neutral position, I have to also considering for riggers and animators; by adding some little touch, it will makes their lives (and mine) much easier. Be Considerate.

"TinkerBell" will be releasing next week on DVD, therefore I render some works I have done on the show. Click "READ MORE" to see more works. I hope you like it.
